NTUC to look more closely in 2022 at youth entering workforce, women juggling family duties
SINGAPORE — While traditionally focused on addressing the needs of low-wage, vulnerable and older workers, the labour movement has plans to expand its reach this year to look more closely at youth entering the workforce and women workers juggling family responsibilities.
- The National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) said it would expand its focus to look more closely at the needs of youth and women workers
- Labour chief Ng Chee Meng said that NTUC would also focus on setting up tripartite training academies in sectors that require transformation
- He recognised that increased costs of living is a growing concern and said that having a good job is the best way to counter inflation
