SINGAPORE — The Ministry of Health (MOH) on Friday (July 17) added more locations — among them the BHG department store at Lot One Shoppers’ Mall as well as shops in Jem and Westgate malls — to a list of public places that had been visited by Covid-19 cases during their infectious period.

In its evening update on the coronavirus situation in Singapore, the ministry said that the infectious patients had visited:

  • BHG department store at Lot One Shoppers’ Mall in Chua Chu Kang on July 3 between 11.50am and 1pm

  • Sim Lim Square on July 5 between 6.30pm and 7.30pm

  • Sheng Siong Supermarket at 154A Bukit Batok West Avenue 8 on July 8 between 6.15am and 6.40am, on July 10 between 6.20am and 6.50am, and on July 11 between 6.45am and 7.15am

  • Taman Jurong Shopping Centre on July 10 between 11.45am and 12.30pm

  • The Panggung@Aroma Kampung Restaurant at Joo Chiat Complex on July 10 between 12pm and 3pm

  • Resorts World Sentosa casino on July 12 between 6.30pm and 7.30pm

  • Starbucks outlet and Marché Mövenpick restaurant at Jem mall in Jurong East on July 14 between 4pm and 7.30pm

  • Tokyu Hands store at Westgate mall in Jurong East on July 14 between 7.35pm and 8.05pm

MOH said that it would have already notified individuals who had been identified as close contacts of the confirmed cases.

"As a precautionary measure, persons who had been at these locations during the specified timings should monitor their health closely for 14 days from their date of visit," the ministry said.

"They should see a doctor promptly if they develop symptoms of acute respiratory infection (such as cough, sore throat and runny nose), as well as fever and loss of taste or smell, and inform the doctor of their exposure history."

Members of the public do not need to avoid places where confirmed cases of Covid-19 have been, MOH said.

The National Environment Agency will engage the management of the affected premises to provide guidance on cleaning and disinfection, it added.

On Friday, MOH reported 327 new Covid-19 cases in Singapore. Of these, nine are cases in the community while three are imported. The remaining 315 are foreign workers staying in dormitories.
